As Founder Principal and Director, Mrs. Chopra established the school in a single room in 1960 with a desire to put her education to good use. In a time when working women were an anathema, she dared to dream. The challenges and obstacles were immense, the road uphill and the task enormous. With continued service, hard work and a will to succeed - her efforts bore fruit. New Era Public School became and continues to be an institution whose name is synonymous with excellence in Education. Mrs. Chopra is a beacon of light and a source of strength to all those whose lives she has touched. Her life is an exemplary and inspirational one and she continues to guide and direct the school to newer vistas of educational achievement with renewed fervour and innovation.

A bunch of mathematical principles or grammatical rules is not the education that we want to impart. We teach our students to go beyond the syllabus and think for themselves.

Dr. Ajay Kumar Bansal is a successful coach, administrator and organizer. He graduated from Kurukshetra University in Haryana. He also did a Sports Diploma from the same University. He did a Hockey coaching course from NIS Patiala in 1982 and later in his career headed the Hockey Deptt. of the same institution. After obtaining his M.Phil, he completed a Doctorate in 2011 at Jamia Milia, Delhi. He also did various coaching and Solidarity courses conducted by the IOC and FIH.

He was the chief co-ordinator FIH-High Performance Coaching Course conducted by the FIH during the Delhi World Cup. He was also coach of the 2009 Junior World Cup for boys, chief coach for women (2000 to 2002) and men (2008-2009).

India won silver at the Azlan Shah Cup (2008) under his tutelage. He was awarded Dronocharya Award in 2010.
